Pixar has some celebrating to do this week because for the 12th time in a row they have a winner! Cars 2 brought in $68 million despite mediocre reviews and when you add that to the $42 million that it made overseas, the studio is definitely feeling pretty good right now.
The Hollywood Reporter ran an article today discussing the possibility of a sequel to one of summer's biggest flops/disappointments, Green Lantern. Apparently, Warner Bros. still believes in the franchise despite the horrid reviews and underwhelming box office take. They admit that they are “somewhat disappointed” with how the movie came out but they still are moving forward with a sequel.
The Fast and the Furious franchise has become a huge moneymaker for Universal. With Fast Five raking in almost $600 million worldwide, a sixth movie is obviously a big priority for the studio. Such a big priority in fact that Universal is getting ready to push it out on May 24th, 2013. Furthermore, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Vin Diesel will all likely return to face what is being called "their most dangerous adventure yet."
