Mimesis is a horror fan's dream concept, recalling a classic film with superior cult like worship, but struggles at times to deliver consistent grade-A material.
Well, Remy and I weren't really sure what to do this week for our Last Stand article, but if there's one thing the internet has taught me, it's when you're bored, just Google hot ladies. I suggested this to Remy, and thus our shrine to the best "Horror Babes" is now under construction, which we'll sporadically revisit to highlight the most bodacious, enthralling, and entrancing horror beauties for specified decades.
Today's Argument: Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. It's the age-old battle of werewolf vs. vampire, told through the most watered down and least appealing way possible. These two once feared monsters have been stripped of all horrific nature by the Twilight series, but it's what all the kids seem to be talking about these days, so why not weigh in on it?
I think we can officially rename the summer of 2013 "The Summer of James Wan," as horror fans now have another film to get excited about before October's typical horror release season. Cinema Blend is reporting that in addition to director James Wan's horror film The Conjuring opening July 19th, 2013, Wan will also see his highly-anticipated sequel to 2010's surprise mainstream hit Insidious, Insidious Chapter 2, hit theaters that same summer, releasing August 30th, 2013.
If you loved ThanksKilling and all its fixins, ThanksKilling 3 will be a lavish helping of Thanksgiving inspired horror. On the other hand, if you couldn't stomach Turkie the first time around, you better believe a second helping will leave you on the floor, retching in pain.
This week on Nato and Remy's Last Stand the duo draft their dream team for the zombie apocalypse out of fictional move/TV characters. No cheap picks like Alice from Resident Evil or any superhero type character who would obviously be an unstoppable zombie steamroller.
Check out our short film coverage from the New York City Horror Film Festival's final day of programming! This time we've got alcoholic teens, sleepwalkers, anorexia, and a date gone horribly wrong.
Check out my recap of all the horror shorts show on Day Three of the New York City Horror Film Festival! This time we have some foxes, ribbons, child eater's and undead love!
Spiders 3D is something that surely should have went directly to the Sy-fy channel, premiering some Saturday night at 9:00 after a marathon of insect features like Mansquito, Ice Spiders, Camel Spiders, Spiders...you get my drift.
Day two of the New York City Horror Film Festival came and went with no road bumps this time thankfully, as I was able to enjoy the night's lineup without any delays, along with a special guest appearance by horror icon Rob Zombie, but I'll touch on that experience later and save the love here for another fantastic night of short films. Teddy bears, talking vegetables, cannibalism - what wasn't there to love?
