One of the most frightening games in production is finally scheduled to release on Steam early next month. Outlast, developed by the 10 man indie team Red Barrels, literally made players at PAX East and E3 jump out of the booth; it earned the title of “Most Likely to Make you Faint.” While the playable demos weren't exceptionally long, they contained more than enough gruesome surprises to go around.
Dusty Revenge is a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em-up with platforming elements, created by the indie developer PD Design Studio. The game focuses on Dusty, a dual-wielding rabbit, and his two companions who are bent on revenge. PD Design Studio creates a unique environment by using a Cel-shaded artistic style and a world containing humanoid furry animals.
Square Enix has just released its latest teaser for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In the video they include visual walkthroughs of several dungeons. Even with the relatively poor resolution from the videos, these dungeons look gorgeous. Square Enix is definitely building the anticipation, and I for one am getting more and more excited the closer to launch this bad boy gets.
Dynasty Warriors 8 improves upon its predecessors and is easily the best in the series for this console generation. The storyline feels deeper, the battles are more intense, and the graphics have improved. These improvements should make it one of the better hack and slash titles released this year.
Game director Naoki Yoshida confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn won't be released for the Xbox 360 or Xbox One, due to Microsoft's restrictive policies that prohibit cross-platform gaming.
