Last Friday Disney announced the cancellation of The Lone Ranger. With Johnny Depp set to star as Tonto and shooting scheduled to begin this fall, the move came as a shock. According to reports, however, the film’s $250 million budget proved a deal breaker.
Deadline Hollywood reports that 20th Century Fox TV has signed a deal with Barr and her current agent/boyfriend Johnny Argent to develop a half-hour sitcom. The premise? The show, entitled Downwardly Mobile, will focus on the trials and travails of a tightly-knit, working-class family struggling to make ends meet. Steven Greener, executive producer of Barr's reality series Roseanne's Nuts on cable's Lifetime, will produce along with Barr and Argent.
Something about this almost five minute clip from Andrew Garfield’s appearance last weekend at the Comic Con panel for next year’s The Amazing Spider Man awakens my inner cynic. Garfield’s a likable enough young star, and he’s on a major roll to boot. He’s certainly a better choice to play Marvel’s vaunted webslinger than Tobey Maguire but he lays it on a little thick here for my liking. Spider Man saved his life? Really?
The thing I’ll remember most about 'The Toast Derivation' won’t be LeVar Burton’s aggravatingly brief (but very funny) cameo; it won’t even be Amy’s revelation that she uses an electric toothbrush named “Gerard” for "female tension relief." No...
Finally, near the episode’s conclusion, Penny has a minor breakdown, confessing her love for Leonard and giving Amy the data she needs to make a rhesus monkey “cry like a disgraced televangelist.”
Sheldon is proud of Leonard and encourages him to pursue a career as a research-funding gigolo because, “There are a lot more rich old ladies out there and daddy needs a new linear accelerator.”
Sheldon’s first acting lesson, much like Penny’s first physics lesson last season, reminds that if average women are from Venus, socially-awkward, uber-nerd physicists must be from the Andromeda Galaxy.
There’s an old flame burning for Penny as week 11 opens and that flame is none other than Zack—Mr. Excitation himself.
On the one hand, considering Zack’s appearance in last week’s The Alien Parasite Hypothesis (he was the “alien” who drove Amy Farrah Fowler’s endocrine system into a gluteus-maximus-grabbing frenzy), his reappearance this week isn’t terribly surprising.
