The trouble is, the above definition of Justice League does not exist. There was already such studio strong-arm tactics long before Snyder removed himself from the project following the tragic death of his daughter. Revenge of the Fans broke down the timeline in the dabbling in the DCEU.
Since the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the MCU appears to have reached a plateau in its progression through Phase 3, with what seems like a hefty wait until Ant-Man and the Wasp (especially for the UK), Captain Marvel and Avengers 4. In the meantime, fans have got 10 years worth of Marvel movies to wade through and are upturning connections that link the films in the series left, right and centre.
While the future of The Batman and the DC Extended Universe as a whole hangs in the balance after the poorly-received Justice League, it's encouraging to see that there's a fond affection growing for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as of late. Over on Twitter at least, the love is certainly real, with cinematographer Larry Fong sharing some stunt footage from the film that was previously unseen until now.
Up until Josh Brolin's turn as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, it's been pretty hard to argue against Loki being the MCU's most successful villain throughout its rich, ten year history. Sure, he's turned face, heel and back again more times than The Big Show (we all still watch wrestling, right?), but he's always magnetic whether he's with us or against us and we were gutted at his exit from the MCU. But how did Tom Hiddleston himself feel about the demise of the God of Mischief?
Most Marvel fans thought they knew exactly who would live and who would die when they walked into Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War. Decades of comics (sorry, graphic novels) have depicted either the death or retirement of our hero's alter-egos, only for their mantle to be taken up by another. This prompted theories such as the idea that Steve Rogers might die, only for Bucky or Falcon to take on the Cap role next. Oh how wrong we were.
Upon its release, many a Marvel film fan marched into Avengers: Infinity War with the same sanctimonious stride that they used with Age of Ultron. But whereas then, they were sure that Hawkeye would be the one leaving Sokovia in a body bag, here they were certain that it was time for their favorite heroes to die. And they (us included) were prepared.
We've all been there, right? We're wiping out half of the universe's population at 7, but we're hitting the club at 9. What to do, what to do? Luckily, artist Boss Logic has solved Thanos' what to wear issue by creating four funky versions of the Avengers: Infinity War villain's trademark accessory: the Infinity Gauntlet.
