As the fourth highest-grossing movie of all time, it doesn't seem like too much of an exaggeration to say that everyone has seen Avengers: Infinity War. It also seems reasonably safe to assume that everyone has got an opinion on that ending. Whether it's down to who should have floated away on the breeze instead or who should have kicked Thanos' purpley-pink ass, it's divisive, emotive...and now the subject of a new How It Should Have Ended video.
Although Star Wars: The Force Awakens gave us very little to go on in terms of Luke Skywalker's situation, he apparently underwent a big transition between that film and The Last Jedi.
Thanos has had a ten-year-long introduction into the MCU and stands as arguably its finest villain. But it turns out Josh Brolin knew next to nothing of the deaths in Avengers: Infinity War.
There seems to be a whole lot up in the air in the Star Wars Universe at the moment. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy is apparently one foot in, one foot out depending on the day, Star Wars standalone movies seem to have been put on hold in the wake of Solo: A Star Wars Story's "failure" and there's more spin-off's being slated than you can shake a Tusken Raider's stick at. Just to add to all that, it seems we may also get a second chance at seeing an intriguing new character from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The trouble is, the above definition of Justice League does not exist. There was already such studio strong-arm tactics long before Snyder removed himself from the project following the tragic death of his daughter. Revenge of the Fans broke down the timeline in the dabbling in the DCEU.
Since the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the MCU appears to have reached a plateau in its progression through Phase 3, with what seems like a hefty wait until Ant-Man and the Wasp (especially for the UK), Captain Marvel and Avengers 4. In the meantime, fans have got 10 years worth of Marvel movies to wade through and are upturning connections that link the films in the series left, right and centre.
While the future of The Batman and the DC Extended Universe as a whole hangs in the balance after the poorly-received Justice League, it's encouraging to see that there's a fond affection growing for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as of late. Over on Twitter at least, the love is certainly real, with cinematographer Larry Fong sharing some stunt footage from the film that was previously unseen until now.
Up until Josh Brolin's turn as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, it's been pretty hard to argue against Loki being the MCU's most successful villain throughout its rich, ten year history. Sure, he's turned face, heel and back again more times than The Big Show (we all still watch wrestling, right?), but he's always magnetic whether he's with us or against us and we were gutted at his exit from the MCU. But how did Tom Hiddleston himself feel about the demise of the God of Mischief?
