Of course we all know Bungie has joined up with Activision and is leaving their Halo franchise to 343 Industries. Well Bungie announced yesterday that they are enlisting players to sign up as beta testers for their next unannounced game.
That's right. Flavor Flav announced that he is starting his own fried chicken franchise called FFC (Flav's Fried Chicken) and several liquor lines, including Le Flav Spirits, which features such flavors as bubble gum and sweet tea vodka.
Not surprisingly, the launch of Black Ops generated tremendous first week sales. Activision states that Black Ops grossed $650 million in the first five days, beating the previous record as the biggest entertainment launch in history. The previous record was set last year by Activision's own Modern Warfare 2, which made $550 million in the same five day launch window. This places the Call of Duty series as the first entertainment property to set five day launch records for two consecutive years across all entertainment genres.
Say what you will about Kanye West. He's egotistical, maniacal and arrogant. He's someone who constantly manipulates the media with outlandish statements to consistently keep himself the topic of conversation. Just yesterday, we posted the first single off of Dr. Dre's much delayed Detox album called Kush. Dre spoke on it in an interview with Big Boy on Power 106. Apparently, just like previously leaked track, Under Pressure, Kush was also an unauthorized and unfinished leak, though it will be on the album.
The long awaited 2D fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, has finally been officially dated. The game will release on February 15th, 2011 in North America. Along with the release date, the contents of the special edition have also been revealed.
At a recent concert now clean and sober, DMX inexplicably shouts "Fuck Jay-Z!" in the middle of his set. This shot was unprovoked and has not been expanded on yet by the rapper. It's worthy to note that the two used to be close friends and frequent collaborators when they were just blowing up in the late 90's so Jigga's response could be interesting.
One of the most talked about up and comers last year, Jay Electronica, is officially the newest member of Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. He joins the North Carolina rapper J. Cole as a trio that should be watched for big things in the next year or so.
I realize we're nearing the end of 2010 and we're beating a dead horse with this topic at this point but I feel that with the shutting down of popular file sharing program, Limewire, a couple of weeks ago and an even more recent case of a single mother being forced to pay punitive damages of $1.5 million, it warrants another in depth look at the morality and legality of pirated music.
