Alison Brie and Dave Franco want you to propose at their horror movie screening, and ‘the crazier the better’

Nothing says love like terror.

Actors Alison Brie and Dave Franco are encouraging fans to propose to their partners during screenings of their new horror movie, Together. The married couple announced a contest on July 17 that offers a free Las Vegas wedding to the winning couple who creates the most creative proposal at a movie theater.

According to People, the contest, launched by film company NEON, participants are to film their proposal at a theater showing “Together” and share it on social media. Contestants must use the hashtag #TogetherContest and tag @together.movie in their posts before August 3.

Franco, who previously directed the terrifying horror film ‘The Rental’ as his directorial debut, specifically encouraged creative proposals, stating “the crazier the better,” while Brie added that it would be “crazy romantic” to propose during their horror film. The contest is open to U.S. residents aged 18 and older, with winners to be selected based on specific judging criteria and contacted through direct message.

Contest rules and additional opportunities to win

The contest is part of NEON’s promotional campaign for Together, which follows the story of Tim and Millie, a couple who face supernatural challenges after moving to the countryside. The film stars Franco and Brie as the main characters, whose relationship becomes threatened by a mysterious force.

NEON is also running another contest offering tickets to the Los Angeles premiere on July 23. For this separate competition, couples need to recreate the Together billboard located at Melrose Ave and North Detroit St, using the hashtag #TogetherForever and tagging @neonrated.

The married actors, who wed in 2017 after Franco was convinced by his brother James’s agent to try acting, have been actively promoting their film through various social media campaigns. They recently shared a photo of themselves recreating their movie’s billboard with a kiss, encouraging fans to participate in the premiere ticket contest.

In recent interviews with PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly at the Sundance Film Festival, the couple revealed that filming Together actually impacted their own relationship. Franco admitted they became “more codependent than ever,” with Brie agreeing that while they initially thought their relationship was healthier than their characters’, they ended up becoming more codependent after making the film.
