‘Bro thinks he’s a rapper’: Justin Bieber leaves fans baffled with Instagram name change

Justin Bieber is going off the deep end.

Justin Bieber has once again left his fans puzzled after making a big change to his Instagram account. On Thursday, the famous singer switched his longtime Instagram username from @justinbieber to @lilbieber. This sudden change, which he did not explain, but it’s hard to not think it’s a funny change.

The Grammy-winning singer, who is 31 years old, did not give a clear reason for the name change. However, there was a small clue earlier in the week. On Tuesday, Bieber shared black-and-white photos on social media showing him holding his and Hailey Bieber’s 10-month-old son, Jack. The caption on the photos included the words “lil bieber” along with a lock emoji, which now seems like a hint about his Instagram update.

This isn’t the first time Bieber has changed his Instagram username. Back in 2014, his account was briefly called @bizzle, a fact that people are bringing up again now. Right after the latest name change, social media users started reacting, with many joking about his past usernames and playfully suggesting he might be starting a new career.

Justin Bieber may be the next rapper

It is pretty funny, but what’s funnier is the reaction. One person summarized it so well, saying, “Bro thinks he’s a rapper,” which matches the name change to “lil.” I would bet that a mix tape is coming soon.

It could also just be a random name change that means nothing. Britney Spears’ Instagram name was Xila Maria River Red, which isn’t her name, but it’s probably just a fun little wording change. This could also be Justin Bieber trying to signal that he feels little in his relationship since his wife Hailey has been so successful.

The couple have had their issues since they have been on and off since 2016, got married in 2018, and later renewed their vows six years after that, around the time they were expecting their son. Jack was born in August 2020.

The Instagram name change comes at a time when Bieber has been posting a lot of confusing things on social media. Even though Hailey claims their relationship is strong, there have been recent rumors about a possible breakup, partly because of Justin’s online posts.
