Cruz Beckham announces ‘ur dead to me’ and other bitter declarations amid feud with brother Brooklyn Beckham

The Beckham family feud endures on.

There’s more drama in the David Beckham household, and this time it’s Cruz Beckham who can’t stop taking subliminal shots through his Instagram.

At first glance, Instagram feels like an odd platform to use to settle personal scores. X will forever be the home of drama — but that’s reserved for people who have nothing to lose, like Azealia Banks. When you’re the son of a knight, you have to show a little more tact. Cruz decided his version of tact wouldn’t even be stories — just that little note bubble that pops up in the inbox area of the app.

The problem in the Beckham family seems to stem from the 2022 wedding between Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz. The family is notoriously private, but absence from key members at milestone events strongly suggests there’s some discord simmering just beneath the surface. Marca reports that during the wedding, Victoria Beckham chose to stay away from key preparations because the two influential families — the Peltzes and the Beckhams — couldn’t agree on basic details.

Since then, the extended family has seemingly split into two — with Brooklyn very conspicuously siding with his in-laws. He even missed his father’s 50th birthday, and in families like this, that sort of decision practically screams tension. There’s even talk that in Victoria’s own upcoming Netflix documentary, neither Nicola nor Brooklyn will make an appearance. Their attendance at the premiere isn’t even guaranteed.

But one person who’ll definitely show up is Cruz. According to Page Six, he went on a rampage via his Instagram notes, aimed at an unnamed individual. His notes read: “Oh it’s stockholm syndrome,” “Bloody inbreds,” “instant karma is gonna get you,” “ur dead to me,” and several other posts that, at the very least, suggest he’s addressing someone quite close. Of course, he didn’t go as far as naming names — but come on.

The Peltz family isn’t exactly a household name, but they’re a lot more influential than people think. The patriarch, Nelson Peltz, is an 83-year-old hedge fund manager with a piece of just about every major company in the world — PepsiCo, Cadbury… you name it. His boldest move was trying (and failing) to take over Disney, after which he dramatically sold all his shares. He has 10 children, including Nicola, all heirs to his billion-dollar empire. He probably figured he might not be able to bully the house of mouse, but a former footballer and a popstar would be no match for his influence. Seemingly, the Beckhams declared, “guess again.”

It’s understandable why neither family is too keen on playing second fiddle, but reportedly, the Peltz side has been making things a bit more personal. The final straw? Apparently, Nicola refused to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria — who, by the way, is a respected name in fashion circles.

This family squabble will likely keep playing out in the subtlest of ways across various media platforms. It’s like an episode of Succession, but with way less at stake. That said, Brooklyn could probably end all of this with one — maybe two — phone calls.
