Rutherford’s representative reached out to Page Six on Wednesday breaking this information, saying, “We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends.” So yes, their breakup is confirmed, which is nothing short of a tragedy for the millions of ‘Eilishford’ fans.

Every major breakup story makes us curious to go back and assess relationship timelines, and if we apply a similar rule to Eilish and Rutherford’s romance, then we would have to start by recalling the first time when they were spotted publicly.

It was in October 2022 when the former couple seemingly engaged in a comfortable interaction at a vegan restaurant in West Hollywood. Thereafter, they were seen kissing outside a restaurant, igniting dating rumors, after which the pair officially announced their relationship.

Throughout the time they were dating, both parties had good things to say about each other in public. Eilish mentioned Rutherford as an inspiring figure in her life and also went on to mention how excited she was to be dating Rutherford, who she called the “hottest f—ing f—er alive.”

Things started to get serious (at least that’s how it came across) when the couple was seen celebrating Christmas with Eilish’s family. While things seemed good between the two of them, fans began to suspect something was up when the pair didn’t show up at the Met Gala together. Notable for a couple who frequently made public appearances in the past.

Which raises the vital, what could have been the reason? Rumors of cheating circulated, which were immediately shunned by Eilish’s representatives, who confirmed that they parted on cordial terms and decided to remain friends.
