Dwayne Johnson’s haunting wax figure is being fixed, and he’s even been invited to ‘see if there are other modifications that need to be made’

The Rock will need to get up close and personal with himself.

Wax figures of well-known celebrities often go viral for looking incredibly sh*tty and nothing like the people they’re supposed to represent, but that was only part of the reason why the haunting recreation of Dwayne Johnson unveiled at the Grevin Museum in Paris was taking a battering.

The life-size waxwork of the former professional wrestler and current A-list megastar came under sustained fire for being… well, we’ll say it was a touch on the pale side. The Rock is proud of his roots being the son of a Black father and Samoan mother, and the doppelganger unveiled for the world to see was exponentially pastier than the man himself.

He took it in good stride, but the 51 year-old still publicly called out the museum on social media to say that his team would be getting in touch to seek changes, with Johnson stating that the skin color was top of his list. Funnily enough, when one of the most famous people on the planet blasts your handiwork, it’s going to get your ass in gear pretty quickly.

Director Yves Delhommeau confirmed in a statement (via BBC) that Johnson was right to point out the flaws in his wax figure, and his team were working to “remedy the skin tone” as soon as possible. In addition, he noted that they’re going to take the Fast & Furious veteran up on his offer to pay a visit, where he’ll pass judgement on whether “there are other modifications that need to be made.”

Hopefully they do something about its altogether unsettling nature, too, because that thing is creepy.
