After nearly 50 years of starring in pop culture behemoths, Harrison Ford is getting a bit tired of the same old questions.
His starring roles in both Star Wars and Indiana Jones have followed Ford throughout his career. While his roles as Indy and Han Solo are inarguably blessings, both to Ford (and his still-thriving career) and to audiences, it’s not surprising to learn that Ford occasionally gets sick of obsessive fans seeing him as nothing but the two iconic roles.
Flexing his cranky old man chops in a recent interview with Esquire, Ford addressed the most-asked question he gets from Star Wars die-hards. According to the 80-year-old actor, his biggest fans tend to fall back on the same query, wondering “If there was a fight between Han Solo and Indiana Jones, who would f**kin’ win?”
I can hear Ford in the flawless, grouchy response he gives to this age-old question, as he harrumphs his way through a truly classic Harrison Ford answer.
Described by Esquire with his voice raised and fingers drumming angrily, Ford reportedly responds with “Me, a**hole! I don’t want to f**king make sh*t up like that. I mean, what are you asking me that crap for?”
The answer is hilarious, especially when Ford’s personality is considered. At 80, he’s probably heard the question a few hundred times over the years, so it’s fair that he’s completely and utterly sick of it, but it’s still amusing to imagine his face falling with each fresh repetition. He’s got Star Wars and Indiana Jones — and along with the two franchises many, many fans — to thank for his massive success, of course, but that doesn’t mean he’s got time for our innocuous questions.
