Here are 10 celebrities we’d love to see on ‘The Masked Singer’

From the immediately recognizable voices, to the more subtle climbers.

The Masked Singer is a singing competition that originally started in Korea as King of Masked Singer and made its way to America in January of 2019. The competition involves celebrities who must sing and perform in total incognito mode, using only code names, and dressed in full and elaborate costumes. Their identities can only be revealed once they have been eliminated.

The series has become a popular part of mainstream media since its debut, especially due to the wide variety of celebrities that have shown off their singing chops. From an unexpected Lil Wayne, to an instantly recognizable Patti LaBelle, fans usually engage in arguments on social media on the identity of the masked contestants. There are also several polls created by fans indicating all the famous stars they would love to see on the show.

So, here are 10 celebrities that fans would love to see on The Masked Singer.

1. Sofia Vergara

The Columbian-American actor, who is most famous for playing the role of Gloria on Modern Family, was the highest paid actress on American television for seven years. She also starred as a judge on America’s Got Talent. The actress is known for her personality, humor and signature accent, and while the latter might be a dead giveaway, Vergara’s charisma always shines on screen, whether as a character, host, or talk show guest.

2. Tyler James Williams

Even though he recently went viral for his rap freestyle, Tyler James Williams is pretty notable for his incredibly deep baritone voice. Bursting on the scene as a young Chris in Everybody Hates Chris and Disney’s Let It Shine, Williams is an easily recognizable talent. The actor is currently starring in the hilarious comedy Abbott Elementary, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award. The multitalented star would be a brilliant addition to The Masked Singer as he has the humor and musical background to get far in the competition.

3. Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis is popularly known for being the voice of Meg Griffin in Family Guy, and playing the character Jackie on The ‘70s Show, among other charming and comedic roles. Kunis is fluent in Russian and has a pretty distinguishable speaking voice, but her singing voice isn’t as easily recognized. The actress also ranks pretty high in fan polls about which star should join the competition.

4. Tom Holland

Besides becoming the youngest actor to lead an MCU film, Tom Holland is a classically trained stage performer, starring as Billy Elliot in the popular musical of the same name when he was a child. When he’s not our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Holland can be going viral for showing off his seamless pirouettes, and every now and then, his performance of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” on Lip Sync Battle makes the rounds on social media. The charming Brit is also set to portray the iconic Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic, a role that’s sure to solidify to fans and onlookers the level of talent he possesses. While Holland is seriously booked and busy, there’s no doubt fans would gush at the opportunity to watch the star perform on stage again, albeit in a wacky costume!

5. Steve Carell

It’s been decades since Steve Carell cemented his legacy as one of America’s most hilarious acts, but the actor has also shown off his incredible range by knocking dramatic roles out of the park. Carrell is loved by many, and his name is also a frequent occurrence in fan polls about who should join The Masked Singer.

6. Yara Shahidi

A young, bright, and highly intelligent actress, model, and activist, Yara Shahidi captured the attention of many when she starred as Zoey Johnson in Black-ish, before leading her own spin-off series, Grown-ish. Whether or not she’s a good singer is pretty unknown, especially as her personal life is kept relatively private. Shahidi would be one of the more difficult stars to guess their identity if she does eventually star in the series, and her unveiling will definitely come as a huge surprise.

7. RuPaul

Towering in height and personality, it might not be so difficult to spot the lovable RuPaul in a crowd. As the most famous drag queen in the world, RuPau has consistently shown his incredible talent on his Emmy-winning reality competition series, RuPaul’s Drag Race. While fans might correctly guess his identity, there’s no denying that if anyone’s going to put on a killer performance in the series, it’s gonna be RuPaul!

8. Lakeith Stanfield

Lakeith Stanfield is an American actor and rapper that grew in fame due to his roles in films like Short Term 12, Get Out, Knives Out, and the Emmy-winning television series, Atlanta. The talented actor is known for his mysterious, yet eccentric vibe and has been described by some fans as being “delightfully strange.” Stanfield is a great rapper, but The Masked Singer has also seen famous rappers opt for their singing voice when performing on the show, and fans would love if the actor follows that route.

9. Simu Liu

In February, Chinese-born, Canadian actor Simu Liu claimed in an Actors on Actors conversation that the only show he “ever wanted to be on” is the reality dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, after which he explained that he was part of a hip-hop competitive dance team. Liu starred in the Cody series Kim’s Convenience, and gained mainstream fame for heading the Marvel superhero film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He’s charming, charismatic, and often pokes fun at his past as a stock photo model, making him one of the more relatable actors right now. If this superhero decides to lend his singing chops to The Masked Singer, he will make a lot of fans very happy.

10. Seth Rogen

He’s a Canadian-American actor, comedian, and filmmaker with a voice that you could recognize from a mile away. But that’s one of the reasons Seth Rogen might be one of the most popular additions to the series if he decides to join the competition. Rogen’s comic nature often masks his incredible kindness and relatability, but he’s one of the most beloved movie stars today, and whether or not he butchers the music, or has a surprisingly wonderful tone, his appearance on the show alone would be enough to delight many of his fans, some of which have expressed their desire to see him on polls.
