‘It was Ross, wasn’t it?’ Arrest made in Jennifer Aniston’s Los Angeles mansion gate-crash car wreck case

In a scene that could rival any Friends episode, a man allegedly crashed his vehicle through the front gates Jennifer Aniston‘s tranquil Bel-Air mansion on May 5, 2025. Security guards detained the 70-year-old suspect at gunpoint. The Los Angeles Police Department arrived and took him into custody without incident.

According to reports, the wreck occurred around 12:20 p.m., while Aniston was at home. Aniston was unharmed and did not come into contact with the intruder, who reportedly has a minor criminal history. The suspect had minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. LAPD says they may charge him with felony vandalism.

What happened at Jennifer Aniston’s house?

According to USA Today, authorities have launched an investigation into the man’s motives. The LAPD’s Threat Management Unit is reviewing his background and social media activity. Preliminary findings suggest that the crash was not accidental. So far, there is no evidence indicating that Aniston was specifically targeted.

In a separate incident, Aniston was the victim of a “swatting” prank on September 20, 2024. According to TMZ, an anonymous caller falsely reported a welfare concern at her Bel-Air home, prompting the LAPD to respond. Upon arrival, officers found Aniston safe and confirmed the call was a hoax. The LAPD is investigating the incident as a criminal offense.

“It was Ross, wasn’t it?”

While the gate-crashing incident is no laughing matter, one can’t help but wonder if the suspect was perhaps a disgruntled fan, upset over the lack of a Friends reunion. One social media comment said, “It was Ross, wasn’t it?”

Aniston’s $21 million estate, designed by architect A. Quincy Jones and purchased in 2011, has been her primary residence for over a decade. The property, which boasts sweeping city and ocean views, was notably the venue for her 2015 wedding to actor Justin Theroux.

This unsettling event comes as Aniston prepares to relocate to a nearly $15 million Tuscan-style farmhouse in Montecito, which she purchased from Oprah Winfrey in 2022. The move places her among a growing list of celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Prince Harry, who have sought refuge in the affluent Santa Barbara enclave.
