Claiming that he doesn’t care about being exiled with Hollywood because he broke up with them first, Johnny Depp was in a fiery mood at the recent Cannes Film Festival, where he remarked upon embarking on what he counted to be his 18th comeback.

A French-language period piece in which he’s got barely 15 minutes of screentime isn’t the sort of phoenix-like resurrection his fans were imagining from the former Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts star, but it would seem that the multi-time Academy Award nominee is done with the politics and backstabbing of Stateside cinema.

He may not be interested in making movies on home soil, then, but he wasn’t above gigging across the country with his star-studded supergroup Hollywood Vampires, which also features the legendary Alice Cooper and Aerosmith icon Joe Perry. However, after suffering an ankle injury, the band has been forced to postpone three tour dates due to take place later this week.

The aging rockers are preparing to embark on a full-blown European vacation, so Depp will need to rest up before hitting the cross-continental road, although the aforementioned concerts have been rescheduled for July, so it’s hardly the end of the world for those who bought a ticket and were desperate to see music for dads played by a trio of veterans.

Regardless, the Depp train will keep on rolling even if he isn’t poised to make that grand-scale return to the A-list his most ardent supporters were hoping for, but at least you’ll be able to catch him onstage with Hollywood Vampires at some point in the not too distant future.
