King Charles allies with Prince Harry’s former close friend, gives him the one thing his son has been demanding since 2020

King Charles and Harry's former friend were spotted having a good old chinwag.

King Charles was spotted with David Beckham, a former friend of Prince Harry’s, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on the opening day. The pair had a conversation and the footballer even teased an upcoming project with the King’s Foundation. Meanwhile, Harry has been left out in the cold by both of them.

Prince Harry has been vying for his fathers attention more and more recently but the king is refusing to budge. Seeing Charles have a chinwag with his former close friend will no doubt have caused some upset in the Sussex household.

King Charles is giving Beckham the one thing Harry’s been demanding

The king and queen were greeted by Beckham at the end of their annual visit to the show. The former footballer seemed to be having a great time with the royal couple. It seems they’re even exchanging gifts as Beckham appeared to thank the king after he asked, “You got it, didn’t you?” The warm exchange is a stark contrast to the cold relationship the king currently has with his own son.

Charles is giving Beckham the one thing Harry seemingly desires from him the most: time and attention. The pair appear to be getting on like a house on fire and their joint campaign for the King’s Foundation to get more young people into horticulture is something that perhaps the Duke of Sussex would have been eager to do with his dad. It probably hurts even more to see his former friend being the one to take his place.

This comes after Harry and Meghan somewhat unintentionally inserted themselves into the Beckham’s family drama. Earlier this month the Sussexes invited Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz for dinner at their Montecito mansion.

Harry and David were close friends at one point, but a few disputes and misunderstandings, coupled with the prince’s decision to publicly air his grievances with the royal family have led to the pair becoming distant. Beckham has also made his support of the royal family clear.

Harry wants reconciliation

The prince has expressed his desire to mend the rift that has formed between him and the rest of his family saying “There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.” Despite this, Charles continues to give him the cold shoulder. It seems the monarch is content to cut his son out of his life for good.

Is Harry’s plea for reconciliation too little too late at this point? Perhaps, but there is a glimmer of hope for the prince that he could be accepted back into the royal family, but then again, there’s no guarantee.
