The Flash has gone through one of the most troubled productions in history. Numerous delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, multiple reshoots, and a great deal of controversy spawning from Ezra Miller’s felonious behavior haven’t really improved its prospects either, so this might just turn into a classic Warner Bros. debut where the execs come in and try to mitigate the disaster, only to end up removing huge chunks of the movie.
As we contemplate what the rumored original cut of The Flash would like, James Gunn’s dog helps debunk a Brave and the Bold rumor. Last but not least, James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water takes a swing for the third spot in the highest-grossing movies of all time list, proving that the filmmaker is the undebatable and undefeated king of the box office.
The original version of The Flash included the entire Justice League, so fans are pouring one out for what they almost had
While Zack Snyder will now never get the opportunity to develop his Justice League sequels, we almost received one in the original cut of The Flash. According to scuttlebutt circulating on social media, the first version included Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and even Jason Momoa. Wonder Woman will still probably be a part of the movie, but now that Henry Cavill’s contract has been terminated, we don’t see the Man of Steel appearing for one last rodeo, or else Warner Bros. would’ve capitalized on that marketing potential. If that indeed turns out to be true, The Flash will officially go down as the Justice League sequel that almost was.
James Gunn’s dog leads the director to debunk a major The Brave and the Bold rumor
James Gunn doesn’t seem to be able to catch a break from DCU talk, even when he’s doing something as innocuous as posting a picture of his dog on Twitter. Completely disregarding the absolutely adorable doggo in the photo, folks had more questions to ask about the upcoming cinematic universe, and Gunn being the cool geek he is, indulged them by debunking a set of rumors about The Brave and the Bold. No, the upcoming Batman movie won’t be bringing George Clooney to the forefront again. Yes, the new Caped Crusader will be a completely different actor.
Avatar: The Way of Water and Titanic are actually, literally battling it out in theaters for the spot of the third highest-grossing movie of all time
James Cameron, the absolute mad lad, is bearing witness to two of his movies competing for the third spot in the list of the highest-grossing movies. This is the 25th anniversary of Titanic, so the globally renowned disaster masterpiece is playing in theaters again in celebration of Rose and Jack’s timeless love. The Way of Water, meanwhile, is falling behind by only a smidge, so the Na’vi could be coming for Titanic‘s throne in a few days. Whatever the end result, it’s absolutely hilarious to realize no one was going to give Cameron a box office fight, so the man went and did it himself.
The Flash trailer packs a lot of cameos and oblique references, but we weren’t expecting to see these characters
The Flash trailer finally premiered today as part of the Super Bowl festivities and we got a glimpse at Michael Keaton’s long-anticipated return as the Dark Knight. What’s more exciting, though, is the revelation that the film will feature two Barry Allens, working side by side to save the world from disintegrating. The new Supergirl also made her debut, though there’s still no sign of the Justice League besides Ben Affleck.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer makes fans emotional all over again, hints at the beginning of the end for the team
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is really going hard with that “end of an era” marketing scheme, with the latest trailer once again reiterating the fact that not only is this the final GotG entry but also a story overwrought with tragedy. The Super Bowl promo shows Star-Lord and Groot fighting for their lives, Drax going absolutely berserk on a bunch of unknown aliens, and Nebula carrying Peter’s body. Rocket is also going to get the backstory he’s always deserved, so we positively can’t wait for the movie to arrive in theaters on May 5.
