NFL star wants his shot at joining the MCU

Perhaps the best Hail Mary of his career.

If Hollywood can pull from the WWE for names to add to its list of talent (with unprecedented success, might we add), then there’s no reason we can’t start adding other major sports leagues to the Hollywood pipeline as well.

In a recent tweet, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward voiced his desire to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, going as far as to tag Kevin Feige himself to let him know that the door is open.

It wasn’t long before Twitter started piling on some fancasts for Heyward, ranging from the safer possibility of a Kingpin bodyguard to the apex of reckless abandon in Galactus.

Of course, with the build of a top-of-the-line athlete, an American football player no less, typecasting Heyward as one of the MCU’s many upcoming muscleheads could very well work out; with the X-Men set to enter the fold, the MCU might be in need of a Juggernaut variant, or if Heyward has some secret drama chops that we don’t know about, perhaps he can get his foot in the door for Ben Grimm of the Fantastic Four.

Either way, the first step to making the impossible possible is to just take a crack at it anyway, and with Heyward having thrown his helmet in the ring, we’ll keep on eye on this possible development, if for no other reason than the fun of it all.
