Pamela Anderson’s verdict on Meghan Markle ‘ripping-off’ her off arrives amid duchess’ rumored Netflix troubles

Pamela Anderson was asked what she thought of Meghan Markle's show and whether or not it was a rip-off of her own show.

Earlier this year Meghan Markle was accused of “ripping off” Pamela Anderson with her cooking show, With Love, Meghan, many thought that the show shared many similarities with Pamela’s Cooking With Love. Even the names of the two shows sound similar.

At the time Anderson didn’t address the situation but she has since made her feelings on the matter known. Making an appearance on Watch What Happens Live! Anderson was asked by host Andy Cohen about the similarities between her show and Meghan’s, “On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela’s Cooking with Love?”

Anderson’s show came out mere days before Meghan’s and both feature a famous face preparing meals for friends and family. At the time, one of Anderson’s team released a statement claiming it was “a compliment to see our work with Ms Anderson resonate so strongly,” subtly telling us all that Pamela Anderson did it first while remaining classy in their response.

Pamela shares her thoughts on Meghan Markle and her show

When asked by Cohen to rate how much of a rip-off Meghan’s show was out of ten, Anderson was quick to put the imaginary beef that had been created between her and Meghan to bed. She responded to Cohen’s question: “One. I didn’t really look, but I mean, I didn’t invent cooking shows.”

The Baywatch actress went on to defend the Duchess of Sussex, saying that she is “just doing her thing,” which seems like a subtle way of telling the trolls to leave Meghan alone. Evidently Anderson does not feel like With Love, Meghan was a rip-off of her own show as some critics called it. She makes a pretty solid point about not inventing cooking shows. All cooking shows are going to have similarities to a degree, doesn’t mean they’re all rip-offs of one another.

On X, plenty of fans of both the actress and the duchess agreed with and commended Anderson’s response. One person wrote, “cooking shows all have some similarities & women should support each other whenever possible!” Another echoed the sentiment writing, “Stop trying to pit women against each other,” while a third added, “Good for Pamela for not falling for the bait. Andy is a messy hag for trying to get her to say that.”

The duchess’ show was doomed to fail

Of course, it doesn’t matter what Anderson thinks as Meghan’s show will likely not make it past its second season considering the recent announcement that her and Harry’s $100 million Netflix deal would not be renewed. Although With Love, Meghan was renewed for a second season almost straight away the show failed to meet the expectations of the streaming giant.

Aside from the allegations that Meghan had ripped off Pamela Anderson, the show was also labelled as boring by many critics who watched it. Although it did better than most of the Sussex’s other Netflix projects it seems they just couldn’t win over a majority of their audience who, it seems, had already decided they wouldn’t like it.
