‘Star Wars’ and ‘Cocaine Bear’ stars daydream of a team-up in a galaxy far, far away

So, a movie about a 500-pound bear that sniffs cocaine and goes on a rampage throughout a Georgia forest isn’t a comedy? With Cocaine Bear coming out in theaters on Friday, moviegoers will be thoroughly entertained by the action thriller starring O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Alden Ehrenreich, but they’re hoping for a new adventure as soon as possible.

Fans might know O’Shea already, the son of the infamous Ice Cube and sharing his same looks, who busted into the scene in 2009 playing a DJ in The Janky Promoters before taking on the role of his father in Straight Outta Compton in 2015. However, Star Wars fans will most likely know him best for his role as Roken in the TV miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi. On the other hand, Alden Ehrenreich has been in the industry since 2005 when he had a role in Supernatural and has built up 23 acting credits to his name in total, but Star Wars fans know him as Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018.

Sitting down with Screen Rant, the pair talked about what it was like on the set of Cocaine Bear with actress-turned-filmmaker Elizabeth Banks, as well as what would happen if they were called to work together on a new Star Wars project, a question for which O’Shea came with some serious energy.

To the question of Roken and Han Solo in action in a Star Wars heist movie, O’Shea jumped in, “Allow me to answer this. Hell yeah! You know, I’ve been waiting by my phone since Obi-Wan Kenobi wrapped. I’m waiting for that email to pop up, baby. I’ve been trying to figure out timelines, like you could Han with the running.”

O’Shea went on to say, “It’s fine. I don’t care. Whatever we got to do, we both toting blasters, let’s do it. Let’s get this party going, man. Quit playing. Don’t cheat us, treat us.”

Chiming in for some comedy relief, Ehrenreich gave his two cents, “Yeah. For my part, I’m not interested at all.” Somehow, it seems more like if the big shot at Lucasfilm gave him a call, he’d be on the next plane.

Sadly, this was one of Ray Liotta’s last films as he passed away in his sleep just last year on May 26, 2022. He was working on several movies that will all be released posthumously.
