Teen responds after her deportation case goes viral, then Elon Musk replies with a comment that has people calling him ‘creepy’

Why is he even commenting on this?

A 19-year-old girl who almost got deported from Denmark has spoken out after Elon Musk made a strange comment about her case. Audrey Morris was born in Los Angeles but moved to Denmark when she was nine years old. Her family went there in 2015 so her mother could get her PhD degree.

According to Unilad, the Danish government refused to extend Morris’s residence permit because she wasn’t living with her mother in Aarhus. She was attending high school in a nearby city called Viborg, which broke the rules of her temporary residency. The rules said she had to live at the same address as her mother.

Morris was denied citizenship even though her mother and brother both got it. Her story quickly spread on social media after someone posted about it on X. That’s when Musk saw it and decided to reply.

Musk’s comment focused on looks instead of achievements

The Tesla CEO responded to a post that has now been deleted. He wrote “8 or above level hotness should get an exemption” and added a laughing emoji. This made it seem like he was joking. But many people thought his comment was weird and inappropriate.

Morris has now shared her thoughts about Musk’s reply. She said that the situation is “definitely crazy” but she “wasn’t surprised” by it. She explained that from the start, people focused on how she looked because she’s blonde and white. The billionaire has faced criticism before for his unusual behavior and controversial statements.

“The thing he said wasn’t shocking to me, but coming from him, yes, it was definitely…I was floored,” Morris said. She wishes Musk had commented on her academic achievements instead. That would have been more helpful to her case.

Many people called Musk’s comment “creepy” and “crazy.” Morris said that if his tweet at least brings attention to her situation, she’s okay with being a bit embarrassed. Musk has not said anything about the backlash his comment received. This isn’t the first time the Tesla CEO has sparked backlash with his online presence.

Morris’s permanent residency issue was eventually fixed, but she was really worried about being deported. She had made plans to go back to the US if needed. She claims that Denmark is her home and she’s “as Danish as a foreigner can possibly be.” Morris also said she’s unhappy that people only focused on her appearance instead of her character and achievements.
