‘The Flash’ star has an interesting name for her Barbie doll that she takes everywhere

The doll was given a name befitting of Supergirl's sidekick.

The Flash is set to zip into theaters tomorrow, and all eyes are on Andy Muschietti’s ambitious comic book movie to see exactly which breed of hype it’s going to live up to; will it blow us audiences away like it did James Gunn, who’s gone as far to dub it his favorite film of the year, or will we have to settle for it being the current ceiling of the DC Extended Universe, which isn’t exactly the highest praise in the world?

Indeed, the nuances surrounding The Flash are nothing short of curious, but there’s one aspect of the film that, by all accounts, we should have limitless levels of hype for, and that’s Sasha Calle‘s imminent turn as Supergirl. Indeed, the actress’ DC debut has been one of the most highly anticipated bows of the year, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the big screen tomorrow.

And as it turns out, acclimating to the big screen yields many a small joy, and Calle’s favorite of these has to be the Supergirl Barbie doll that was made out of her likeness, judging by how she brings the toy with her everywhere she goes. But even more adorable than the actress’ gleeful love for the doll is the name she ended up giving it, which she was happy to disclose in an interview with CinemaBlend:

“Yesterday my publicist was like ‘Where’s Supergirl?’ And I’m like ‘Smalls?’ And he’s like ‘Oh my god. That’s her name: Smalls.’ So one of her nicknames is Smalls. But I love her and I take her everywhere with me. It’s such a joy and such a constant wow moment. Smalls brightens up the room.”

Whether it’s a cheeky reference to Smallville or simply the fact that the doll is just a smaller version of Calle herself, the actress naming her Barbie doll Smalls is perhaps the most wholesome comic book movie tidbit we’ll be getting all year, and we’ll happily pull for a DC Elseworlds project featuring Smalls’ stop-motion adventures.

The Flash releases to theaters on June 16.
