‘This is shameful, gentlemen’: Scott Wolf’s estranged wife taken into police custody just days after divorce announcement

When it rains, it pours.

Kelley Wolf, the estranged wife of Party of Five star Scott Wolf, was taken into police custody on Friday, June 13, as documented in a video uploaded to her Instagram profile. The incident occurred merely three days after the public announcement of her separation from Scott Wolf, her husband of 21 years, adding to 2024’s devastating year for celebrity breakups.

According to People, the video, which primarily displayed a black screen until its final moments, captured the interaction between Kelley and responding police officers. In the footage, she can be heard expressing distress, saying, “Oh my God. Don’t. Oh my God, this is not happening.”

During the encounter, Kelley told officers she would “go on my own,” with what appeared to be the sound of handcuffs audible in the background. She addressed the officers, stating, “This is shameful, gentlemen. Look at this, look at this woman, this is shameful. Be ashamed, be ashamed of yourselves, gentlemen.”

Police cite concerns over concerning comments as reason for welfare check

The responding officers clarified that Kelley, 48, was not being taken to jail but rather to “get some help.” They explained their presence was due to concerning comments she had made to her father and others, prompting them to check on her welfare.

Following the incident, Kelley shared a photo of her belongings on Instagram Stories, claiming she had been “taken against my will” and asked followers to “check on my kids.” In the same post, she paradoxically stated she was “happy” and “happier than I have ever been,” while describing the situation as “one of the darkest things I’ve ever experienced.”

The incident follows the recent announcement of her separation from Wolf, with whom she shares three children: sons Jackson and Miller, and daughter Lucy. In her June 10 statement, Kelley had described her journey toward separation as “long” and “quiet,” emphasizing her commitment to maintaining integrity and compassion throughout the process.

Scott Wolf, 57, had also released a statement describing the split as “the most difficult decision of my life,” joining the unfortunate trend of beloved celebrity couples calling it quits, and revealed he had filed for divorce. He requested privacy during this period, particularly to help guide their children through this transition. Neither Kelley nor Scott’s representatives have responded to requests for comment regarding the police incident.
