Wrestling star Alexa Bliss announces pregnancy with partner Ryan Cabrera

And the news couldn't have come at a better time!

When she isn’t slamming her opponents in the ring, she’s suffering from an extreme case of baby fever. In case the name Alexa Bliss isn’t automatically familiar to you as the WWE sensation she is, you might recognize her as the wrestler who replicated Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn look from 2016’s Suicide Squad. At just 31 years old, Bliss has become one of the most iconic athletes of our generation. Real name Alexis Cabrera, she performs under her ring name Alexa Bliss. In 2013, Bliss signed a contract with WWE and was assigned to their Performance Center and developmental brand NXT.

In 2022, Bliss married musician Ryan Cabrera, who began his career as a lead singer for the Dallas band Rubix Groove. In a rather aesthetic Instagram post, Bliss announced that she and Ryan were expecting their first baby in December 2023. “The best moments in life are the completely unexpected,” she wrote.

Having been a Disney fan since the tender age of three, Bliss has exhibited a fondness for cosplaying, which has inspired many of her wrestling outfits. She has mimicked costumes from pop culture icons such as Freddy Krueger, Iron Man, The Riddler, Supergirl, and Chucky.

Before marrying Cabrera, she was engaged to fellow wrestler Matthew Adams, better known by his ring name Buddy Murphy, and now known as Buddy Matthews. They called off the engagement in 2018 but remained close friends, having shared a pet pig together.

This is certainly a positive turn of events for Cabrera, who surely felt at her lowest upon receiving the news that she had skin cancer in March 2023. As she perfectly articulated, sometimes the best moment in life come as little surprises, and there’s no doubt that her firstborn couldn’t have come along at a better time.
