4) The Punisher
With any non-powered crime fighter, it’s difficult to say whether they’re really a superhero or not. That’s especially true with The Punisher – he even started life as a villain who faced off against Spider-Man. In effect, he’s just a vengeful guy with a big gun, but his unflinching dedication to ridding the world of evil has left him a beloved part of Marvel’s roster of heroes.
Unlike just about every other superhero, The Punisher’s primary method of stopping criminals is using lethal force. After his family was killed during a gang war, Frank Castle took it upon himself to clear up New York singlehandedly. Putting his military training to good use, Frank mows down criminals without a second thought. He’s also not usually one for costumes – except for maybe his black T-shirt with its distinctive skull insignia.
The Avengers might not like him, but you can’t deny that Punisher takes down more criminals than most of those who actually possess superpowers.
