In recent months, Marvel has started putting a greater focus on the X-Men, and while the publisher has made some seriously stupid decisions in that corner of this universe (the fate of Cyclops, for example), they’re still doing a lot better than the Fantastic Four.

Marvel’s First Family has never been a big seller, but with the right creative team, their adventures have been endlessly entertaining. While The Thing and the Human Torch are still around, Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman are MIA, as are their children. And that’s a real shame, as this team should be a pivotal part of any event and seeing them treated this way is extremely disappointing.

The fact that they’re a family is what makes the Fantastic Four so special, and their absence has left a huge hole in the Marvel Universe. It’s thought that the main reason for this is because of the less than stellar relationship between Marvel and Fox, but that’s changed in recent years, so their absence remains beyond confusing.

Can they not have at least one title when random Inhumans which no one cares about have dozens? Apparently not, though fans remain optimistic that that could change at some point in the near future.
