The Clark Kent Mystery Deepens In Action Comics #973

Perhaps some of you will agree with me in saying that the Superman line of books have offered some of the best hooks and mysteries the young Rebirth era has seen, especially what has been found in the pages of Action Comics. Much of the credit can go to Dan Jurgens because, at this point, writing stories featuring the Man of Steel is probably as easy as breathing to him.

Perhaps some of you will agree with me in saying that the Superman line of books have offered some of the best hooks and mysteries the young Rebirth era has seen, especially what’s been found in the pages of Action Comics. Much of the credit can go to Dan Jurgens because, at this point, writing stories featuring the Man of Steel is probably as easy as breathing to him.

If you too have been following the series, you’ve likely been wondering what’s been going on with the mysterious, seemingly human Clark Kent that’s been showing his face around Metropolis. According to him, he has the Smallville upbringing with none of the Kryptonian heritage and, not only that, was in collusion with the now deceased New 52 Superman.

As much as his claims contradict everything we’d read throughout the New 52, this run has been no less addicting. With the “Mild Mannered” story arc beginning this week, it looks as though substantial answers regarding this enigmatic fellow will get here before long. Still, I have a feeling that much more will be revealed in the “Superman Reborn” crossover that’s set to kickoff next month.

Action Comics #973 arrives in comic shops this Wednesday, February 8. In the meantime, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

“MILD MANNERED” part one! The road to “Superman: Reborn” starts here! With Superman and Lex Luthor back on Earth, the Man of Steel turns his attention to uncovering the mystery of the human Clark Kent living and working in Metropolis. But there’s something…off about this guy, and Superman better figure out just what that is, before it’s too late!
