IDW Announces Followup To The Beauty Of Horror

Perhaps you have heard by now that adult coloring books are apparently all the rage these days, as not only do grown folk enjoy testing their artistic skills, but it also provides a therapeutic experience for many. In fact, it's very possible that you could be taking a break from putting pencil or marker to paper right now in order to read this. And, if you are, I swear that I can't see you.

Perhaps you’ve heard by now that adult coloring books are apparently all the rage these days, as not only do grown folk enjoy testing their artistic skills, but it also provides a therapeutic experience for many. In fact, it’s very possible that you could be taking a break from putting pencil or marker to paper right now in order to read this. And, if you are, I swear that I can’t see you.

Lately, major comic book publishers have been taking part in this craze, allowing fans to put their own spin on popular creations. One such house is that of IDW, who are capitalizing on the runaway success of The Beauty of Horror by releasing a followup in the form of – deep breath – The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium, Another GOREgeous Coloring Book.

Much like Alan Robert’s previous offering, the sequel continues to follow “everyone’s favorite undead girl Ghouliana, as she mischievously attempts to trick budding colorists into unleashing a deadly spell.” Now, if that concept can’t be loosely spun into the plot of a horror movie, I don’t know what can. Let’s just hope that if it were to happen, Blumhouse wouldn’t sequel that thing to holy hell.

Once you get past the red foil cover that collectors of comics from the 1990’s will no doubt love, expect to find 80 pages of chilling original artwork, each of which are said to be more terrifying than the last. And although we’ve been treated to only one interior that can be viewed in the gallery at the top, we can definitely see the appeal.

The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium, Another GOREgeous Coloring Book is scheduled to arrive in stores this September.
