So far, 2017 has been incredibly generous when it comes to tie in-comics. In addition to readers being able to enrich their experiences with prequel tales for properties such as 24: Legacy and The Great Wall, Spectral: Ghosts of War becomes the latest to join the club.

Serving as a lead-in to the Netflix original film, Spectral, this digital offering is written by Seamus Kevin Fahey (Battlestar Galactica, Lethal Weapon) and Sean Fahey (BlackJack Press), with gorgeous painted artwork contributed by Zid (Son of Merlin, Kong: Skull Island).

Although the preview Legendary Comics have provided includes only two interior pages, we can probably all agree how stunning said painted artwork is. Being a fan of the likes of Alex Ross, it’s something I would love to see more of in the medium, as I feel it helps create such an immersive experience.

Spectral: Ghosts of War is now available in digital format via Comixology, with a price tag of $7.99. For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

When a war-torn city is overrun by a terrifying army of ghosts, a group of school-friends set out on a dangerous journey to uncover the truth behind their nightmares. Meanwhile, an advanced assault unit of near-future soldiers skirts the city’s shadows on a search and rescue mission, finding themselves thrown into explosive conflict with an impossible enemy that can only be seen with specialized goggles that enable the wearer to look death in the eye. Are these attackers the ghosts the children seek? Or something much more sinister?
