Grandmother’s final words were clear: ‘Never hang this painting in your home.’ He ignores her, and what moves across the canvas makes his blood run cold

The artist mixed his own blood into the paint, then did the unthinkable.

A British man named Sean Robinson from Cumbria, England, owns what some people call one of the most haunted paintings in the world. The artwork is called The Anguished Man and shows a twisted person with no eyes and a mouth that looks like it is screaming. Nobody knows who painted it or exactly when it was made.

Robinson inherited the painting after his grandmother passed away. She had hidden it in her attic for 25 years because she thought it had something bad attached to it. His grandmother told him that the person who made it mixed their own blood with the paint and killed themselves shortly after finishing it. She also said she saw a dark figure in her house and heard a man crying when the painting was around.

Even though his grandmother warned him to never hang the painting in his home, Robinson decided to bring it out of storage in 2010. But then weird things started happening. Robinson says he and his wife began seeing a shadowy figure shaped like a man walking around their house. They also heard crying and moaning sounds coming from nowhere. “I am a believer now, there is definitely something wrong with that painting,” Robinson said, as per Ladbible.

Either this guy is pulling an elaborate prank or something genuinely strange is going on

In 2010, Robinson put videos on YouTube that he claims show ghostly activity linked to the painting. His most watched video has a camera that recorded for eight hours in a room where the painting was kept. The video shows a door shutting by itself and loud banging noises that nobody can explain. He posted other videos too, showing strange lights appearing near the painting, weird smoke in the room, and what looks like a ghost running past the camera really fast.

Plenty of people do not buy his story though. Doubters say that everything Robinson claims comes only from him and his family, and nobody else has been able to prove any of it actually happened. Some viewers think the videos are fake and that he could be using thin fishing wire to move things or editing the footage to add effects. Others believe people might just be imagining things because they expect to see something scary, kind of like how other creepy paintings have made people feel uneasy.

Some ghost hunters have looked into the painting, including investigators named Ian Lawman and John Blackburn. Robinson even traveled around to different places in the UK that are supposed to be haunted and brought the painting with him. Even though people have wanted to buy it, Robinson refuses to sell it because he thinks it might hurt whoever owns it next. He keeps it locked up somewhere safe now and says any copies you see for sale online are fake.

The painting became famous enough that a movie company wanted to make a film about it. In 2016, a production company called La Brea Pictures bought the rights to turn the story into a movie called Anguished.

A Finnish director named Tii Ricks was supposed to direct it, and Robinson was going to help produce it. Whether the painting really has a ghost attached to it or if the whole thing is made up, it has definitely gotten a lot of attention from people who are into paranormal stuff, similar to other supposedly cursed items like the Annabelle doll.
