Sky News reporter accidentally swears during broadcast, then immediately says something that makes it even worse

That's gonna be in the blooper reel forever.

Sky News arts and entertainment correspondent Katie Spencer had an awkward moment live on air when she accidentally swore during a broadcast. What made it worse was her immediate reaction, she asked editors to cut the footage, not realizing she was live. It’s the kind of mistake that turns a small slip-up into a much bigger problem.

According to LAD Bible, Spencer was reporting on David Walliams, the former Britain’s Got Talent judge, being dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK. The publisher made this decision after allegations came out about inappropriate behavior toward junior female employees at the company.

The accidental swearing happened during the December 20 broadcast while Spencer was talking about Walliams’ publishing history with HarperCollins. She mentioned that he published his first book, The Boy In The Dress, with them in 2008. But then she struggled while trying to list his other titles.

The moment went from bad to worse instantly

Spencer started saying, “He’s gone on to publish the further,” before stopping and continuing, “More than fourteen… oh f*** it, I’m going to start again.” What made the situation truly embarrassing was what she said next. She clearly thought the segment was pre-recorded because she quickly added, “Sorry, do not ever air me saying the F-word.” Unfortunately for her, the clip was broadcasting live.

News anchor Kamali Melbourne jumped in after an awkward silence to apologize to viewers. “Apologies if you heard any bad language there,” he said. The clip quickly went viral online, with many viewers finding the honest moment relatable and funny.

People shared supportive comments on social media. One person wrote that Spencer “had a human moment. I felt that.” Another viewer said, “Give her a raise. This is the real BTS behind all them ‘perfectly shot videos’.” It’s not the first time public figures have faced challenges recently, as Prince Harry and Meghan face difficulties in their own public spotlight.

HarperCollins announced their decision about Walliams on December 19. A spokesperson confirmed the company decided not to publish any new titles by the 54-year-old author, who is known for children’s books like Fing and Gangsta Granny. Walliams was informed of this decision.

The allegations led HarperCollins to launch a private investigation last year into claims that Walliams harassed junior female employees. The investigation found that one woman received a five-figure settlement from HarperCollins before leaving the company.

Walliams’ spokesperson strongly denied any inappropriate behavior, stating he was never told about any allegations and wasn’t involved in any investigation. He is currently getting legal advice about the situation. Other celebrities have also recently made headlines for speaking out, including Stephen King’s return to X platform with controversial comments.
