The expected reveal of Activision‘s next Call of Duty game has been dated. Fans of the wartime first-person shooter phenomenon will want to tune into TNT‘s NBA Playoffs broadcast on May 1st, as the much-anticipated game has been issued a promotional time slot during that popular sporting event.

Early rumors have pegged this release as a potential Black Ops sequel. That seems like a rather safe bet, considering the success that Treyarch‘s first time-bending Call of Duty game saw.

Most are expecting this unannounced title to launch sometime in 2012, which would fall into the series’ yearly release schedule.
