In keeping with E3 tradition, Amazon France has inadvertently stole a publisher’s thunder prior to the event kicking off in earnest. Notorious for leaking information ahead of time, on this occasion the outlet has unveiled the release dates for both Rise of the Tomb Raider and Forza Motorsport 6, before quickly replacing each respective date with the standard December 31, 2015 placeholder.
Thankfully, the eagle-eyed users of NeoGaf captured both retail listings before they were pulled, where Crystal Dynamics’ much-anticipated sequel was slated for November 13, 2015 and Turn 10’s Forza 6 was pegged for debut on September 18. You can check out each screenshot down below.
While this is no way a confirmation, both dates coincide with Microsoft’s plans to launch each title during the crucial holiday period. Moreover, both September 18 and November 13 are Fridays, which is the day the publisher would usually slate its biggest software offerings for a worldwide release. Time will tell, of course, though it’s unlikely that the Redmond-based giant will formally announce anything further until Monday, June 15.
Acting as part of an exclusivity deal with Crystal Dynamics, Rise of the Tomb Raider – alongside Halo 5: Guardians – is acting as the linchpin of the publisher’s E3 2015 showcase. Just last week, Microsoft unveiled a cinematic teaser for Lara Croft’s latest adventure, which will see our heroine take to the icy hills of Siberia in the search of immortality.
