As this is a cinematic sizzle reel, the snippet is more a showcase of DOOM‘s stylish world – not to mention the monsters therein – than core gameplay. Even still, directed by Oblivion‘s Joe Kosinski, it’s undeniably an enticing teaser of what’s to come, with Doomguy causing all sorts of chaos as he tears his way through the depths of Hell.

Per Bethesda:

“Fight. Like. Hell. Celebrate DOOM’s upcoming launch with our all-new live-action cinematic trailer. Directed by Joe Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy), the trailer evokes the pillars of DOOM’s gameplay: Relentless Combat, Terrifying Demons, and Bad Ass Guns.”

In anticipation of the shooter’s arrival, a closed beta will take place this coming weekend. To get in, you’ll need to have either pre-ordered fellow Bethesda reboot Wolfenstein: The New Order or, alternatively, reserved your copy of DOOM.

DOOM will unleash nine kinds of crazy across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC come May 13.
