Â
Developer Treyarch has featured a zombies mode in their last three Call of Duty games, and now it looks like Infinity Ward is perhaps about to start their own tradition, but with aliens. As a Call of Duty fan going by the name STMKZ has revealed to the world, the zombies equivalent in Call of Duty: Ghosts is called Extinction, and it will feature waves of bug-like aliens as your enemies. Perhaps even more interesting is what the rest of the leaked pictures tell us about the new game mode.
For the first time in a Call of Duty wave-based mode, each player will be able to select from four different character classes, including a tank, a medic, an engineer, and what looks like it might be a weapon specialist. As the menu itself suggests, playing with a well balanced group is a good idea, as it will allow your team to use all class-specific abilities.
It also looks like the mode will feature objectives beyond simply killing aliens. Â One picture shows a drill object that can be picked up, while another picture shows a health and progress display for the drill. Â It also looks like challenges will be a part of the new mode, as objectives such as “Don’t take any damage from aliens before the hive is destroyed” and “Kill 15 aliens using pistols before the hive is destroyed” can also be seen from the leaked images.
And it could be me jumping to conclusions, but I have a strong feeling that hives just might be part of this new mode as well. Maybe we can even destroy them. At this point, it’s simply too hard to tell. I guess we’ll all have to wait until Call of Duty: Aliens releases on November 5th, and then we can find out together.
Wait, did I say Aliens? Â No, it’s ghosts. Â Call of Duty: Ghosts. Â November 5th.
