Retaining its place for the third consecutive week, it was Treyarch and Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III that emerged atop this week’s UK all-formats, buoyed by a sales spike of 40 percent over the festive period.

It was followed in quick succession by Star Wars Battlefront and EA Sport’s FIFA 16 in second and third, respectively, while Fallout 4 and Grand Theft Auto V – witnessing a 50 percent surge in sales – rounded out the top five.

Word comes by way of UK retail analyst Chart-Track, and you can find the comprehensive list below.

1) Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (up 40%)
2) Star Wars Battlefront
3) FIFA 16
4) Fallout 4
5) Grand Theft Auto V
6) Just Cause 3
7) Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
8) Minecraft: Story Mode
9) Rainbow Six Siege
10) WWE 2K16

It was a relatively quiet week for the industry with no new releases hitting store shelves, and that looks set to continue until the launch of Dragon Quest Builders and possibly Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC next month. Bear in mind that Chart-Track doesn’t factor in digital sales into its final report.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops III be able to make it four weeks on the trot at number one? Check back this time next week to find out.
