Capcom has officially announce the release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition for both PlayStation Network and XBOX Live Arcade.

In one of the deepest and most sophisticated fighting games of all-time, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition maintains an arcade-perfect experience while adding additional features such as updated graphics, a robust online experience and a deep challenge system. The aforementioned new challenges allow players to push themselves, reaping the rewards for accomplishments beyond winning matches.

It will be the first pure fighting game to include GGPO net coding, allowing for pixel-perfect online interactions. Players can compete against global opponents, and will also be able to watch replays from local and online matches or upload videos directly to Youtube. The in-game “Watch With Friends” channel allows for seven players to search for matches together, which they can comment upon.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition is available today for download on the PlayStation Network, and will be released on XBOX Live Arcade tomorrow. It can be had for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points). Additionally, eager players can immediately unlock tough end boss character Gill or unlock dip switch functionality for an extra dollar.
