Codemasters Shuts Down GRID PS3 And PC Servers

Due to a declined extended contract, Codemasters have been forced to shut down their online servers for both the PC and PS3 versions of GRID. Though the online capabilities of the XBOX 360 version still remain intact, as the third-party company they deal with have decided that they're important enough to keep running.

Due to a declined extended contract, Codemasters have been forced to shut down their online servers for both the PC and PS3 versions of GRID. Though the online capabilities of the XBOX 360 version still remain intact, as the third-party company they deal with have decided that they’re important enough to keep running.

“This follows the decision by a third party provider to decline the offer of an extended contract to continue online play on these platforms,” reads an official statement on the publisher’s forum.

It’s unfortunate because GRID has been a pretty popular racing game since its release. Hopefully the XBOX 360 servers will remain online for a while to come.
