‘Dead By Daylight’ fans are unsure whether Leon Kennedy’s vocals sound fearful, or frisky

Randy 'Dead by Daylight' fans are suddenly extremely eager to 'kill' Leon.

In case you’ve yet to get in on the absolutely unmatched vocal talent of voice actor Riley McShane, let us be the ones to introduce you to his unforgettable performance in Dead by Daylight.

The spectacularly talented actor brought Leon Kennedy to stimulating life as a survivor in the title. Fans were recently reminded of his contributions to the voice cast thanks to an instantly iconic Tumblr thread, shared to Reddit, where it landed on the CuratedTumblr sub and promptly sent users into fits of hysterics. The thread is sidesplitting all on its own, as users ponder exactly how McShane managed to summon up such suggestive sounds for a horror game, and cackle over the explicitly erotic nature of his performance.

There’s just no beating comments calling for Dead by Daylight to simply accept the soft core voice work McShane provided and add a “harder” into Leon’s dialogue. Or users theorizing that “my man got railed in the booth for these lines, mad respect.”

There’s simply too much gold in the comment section to pass by, with numerous people noting that Leon “sounds like he’s trying out pegging for the first time,” and melting over the first of several lengthy, unwavering screams that punctuate Leon’s steamy groans and yelps.

Once you’ve heard McShane’s performance for yourself, you’ll never look at the Resident Evil 4 protagonist the same way again. The entire 11-minute video is somehow worth it, despite the fact that its nearly a quarter hour of dialogue-less grunts, but starting around the 4:55 mark might just provide the best sampling of McShane’s truly impressive grasp of the erotic. Let’s not forget to laud the length of those held out screams, which serve as the only interruption from what sounds like a very good time in the recording booth.

There’s also the fact that McShane himself has seemingly acknowledged and endorsed the massive thirst his performance is prompting in fans. He retweeted the same Tumblr thread shared to Reddit on his personal Twitter, and gloated that he will “never apologize” for his contribution to the character of Leon.

Nor should you, Riley.

Fans are holding out hope that Leon will return as the primary playable character in Resident Evil 9, and all we can hope is that a similarly salacious performance will work its way into some of those stressful combat scenes.
