Fan Replaces Mr. X With Nemesis In Must-See Resident Evil 2 Mod

I don't know about you, but I'm rather delighted whenever seeing people post videos showing off their close encounters with Mr. X on social media. I don’t know about you, but I’m rather delighted whenever seeing people post videos showing off their close encounters with Mr. X on social media. Maybe it’s because I’ve now completed all four scenarios in the Resident Evil 2 remake, therefore I’ve been able to put my Tyrant-related trepidation behind me.

Due to this return trip to Raccoon City being especially well received, it’s no wonder that fans are already demanding a remake for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. In fact, Capcom has said they’ll give such a project a green light if our voices are loud enough, so that forces me to wonder if they’ve been paying attention to Facebook and Twitter lately.

If and when that game comes to fruition, then I imagine Nemesis will cause us to be on edge more than Mr. X has been these past few weeks. In short, that’s because he actually runs and tends to pack heavy artillery at certain times, whereas Mr. X favors brisk walking in the tradition of Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers.

Allowing us to picture the future a little better is that of BeastGamingHD, who posted a video of a cool mod on YouTube. Seen below, they’ve inserted Katherine Warren (one of the featured characters in the upcoming “Ghost Survivors” DLC) into what appears to be the 2nd Run. And while there, she comes across two Nemeses instead of Mr. X.

It doesn’t take long to discern that the Super Tyrant skin was used as the foundation for this creature, though his skin tone was altered to better fit the desired look. And while this may not align with the Nemesis you may picture in your head at first, I’ll ask you to recall the boss fight near the end of RE 3 which saw us battle a shirtless brute in the Dead Factory. What’s especially rad is how his theme music and “STARS” growl from 1999 were also inserted.

As for why there are two stalking Katherine, that may be part of the mod itself. Then again, there’s a rare glitch causing some players to be confronted by two Mr. X Tyrants, so either option’s possible. Either way, I look forward to seeing what other alterations tech savvy Resident Evil 2 lovers come up with next.
