FIFA 16 Gameplay Video Highlights Tweaks, Will Allow For More “Moments Of Magic”

Another year, another installment in EA Sports' lucrative FIFA sports franchise. Despite the recent controversy within the titular organization, there is still a tremendous amount of excitement surrounding this year's iteration - not lest because it welcomes women's national teams for the very first time. However, the studio is also reworking much of the gameplay mechanics ahead of FIFA 16's arrival, and in this latest clip we see how every position has been fine-tuned, from the goalkeeper right up to the target man.

Granted, it’s nothing we haven’t heard before, but there is reason to be hopeful for FIFA 16. First up, the creative team is promising a much more balanced experience. One of the most vocal complaints coming out of the series’ passionate community was the difficulty defending against the best players on the planet – namely Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Thankfully, EA Sports has taken this feedback on board, reworking the agility and movement of both attackers and defenders, thus implementing improvements across the pitch.

Per EA:

FIFA 16 gives you the tools to stop your opponent with confidence. Move with greater freedom as a defender – rely on your team to defend as a unit, and your back line to track menacing runs to create balance between attacking and defending. Create more “wow” moments. In FIFA 16, players will have that cutting edge every team needs to create moments of magic and unlock defenses.

EA Sports will bring its latest rendition of the beautiful game to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC when FIFA 16 launches on September 25. Only then will we know for sure whether these gameplay tweaks are all they’re cracked up to be.
