Crossover events are big business in entertainment, not least for video games as big as Fortnite.
Since launch in 2017, fans of Epic Games’ battle royale have had the pleasure of witnessing several such occasions, one of which has only recently concluded. To celebrate the release of Avengers: Endgame last month, Marvel teamed up with the developer once again. Rather than simply bring Thanos back for another solo attempt at conquering Battle Island, however, Epic upped the ante by dedicating an entire Limited-Time Mode to his return visit as well as representing the Avengers with awesome new mythical weapons themed after Thor, Captain America and Iron Man.
A certain degree of disappointment aside, the superpowered clash went down a treat with players, a reception that has no doubt paved the way for future fictional film stars to make an appearance in-game. As it turns out, such an occasion could be closer than many had perhaps expected, as recent data mining efforts appear to have outed the next film franchise intended to get the battle royale treatment.
As per recent discoveries made by serial leaker FortTory, slick action-thriller series John Wick is next on the docket. See the evidence for yourselves below:

Now, we’re certainly not employees of Epic Games, but Wick’s Bounty certainly sounds like the name of an LTM to us and given the mention of Gold Coins in the supposed leaked challenge list, it’s clear as day as to which Wick this one is referring to. There’s every chance, of course, that the above is nothing more than an elaborate fake, but with the final part, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, in Lionsgate’s trilogy due to hit theaters later this month, the time is certainly ripe for such a tie-in.
It should be noted, too, that the fan-favorite Reaper skin introduced as a reward in Season 3 was directly inspired by Keanu Reeves’ title role, so there’s certainly precedent for the rumor to become reality. Either way, we’ll surely be keeping tabs on the story as it develops. In the meantime, there’s plenty to keep Fortnite fans occupied.
Season 9 is now live, bringing with it a wealth of new content for players to dig into, and you can see here for all the details.
