The announcement came tethered with a stunning reveal trailer, showcasing the wonderful fairytale setting and co-op gameplay. As fans of the series will know, Trine centers on the adventures of three heroes — the Wizard, Knight and Thief — with players taking control of the personas one at a time to solve environmental puzzles and the like. According to the short blurb released, The Artifacts Of Power is primed to serve another helping, albeit with some new-fangled additions to the tried, tested and ultimately successful formula.

“The Three Heroes embark on a new adventure through an enchanting fairytale world full of wonders, puzzles, dangerous foes and strange magic.”

As expected, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power has been scheduled for a PC release later in 2015, though Frozenbyte didn’t rule out the possibility of bringing the threequel to consoles. It would be logical for the studio to port the title over eventually, given that Trine 2 proved to be a hit on PlayStation 4 after it launched under Sony’s PlayStation Plus service, but it remains to be seen whether The Artifacts of Power will tread the same path.

Details are, as you can imagine, scarce on the ground for Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, but we’ll update you with all information pertaining to the threequel as we learn more. In the meantime, share your early impressions of the title down below.
