Fruit Ninja Sequel In-Development At New Halfbrick Studio

Although a sequel is a no-brainer, it's still nice to hear that Halfbrick Studios is working on another Fruit Ninja game. It's been pretty much confirmed that a team located at the developer's new, government-aided studio, is in charge of working on ways to further the brand. This includes a sequel, which seems to borrow a bit from Angry Birds. At least, that's what I get from the description that Illawarra Mercury posted in a recent article about the new Sydney studio and the three million dollar initiative it's a part of.

Although a sequel is a no-brainer, it’s still nice to hear that Halfbrick Studios is working on another Fruit Ninja game. It’s been pretty much confirmed that a team located at the developer’s new, government-aided studio, is in charge of working on ways to further the brand. This includes a sequel, which seems to borrow a bit from Angry Birds. At least, that’s what I get from the description that the Illawarra Mercury posted in a recent article about the new Sydney studio and the three million dollar initiative it’s a part of.

“The new Sydney team will develop the next evolution of the Fruit Ninja games franchise. The new game will involve players launching a series of fruit to knock ninjas off their towers in a 3D world, with each fruit having special powers,” stated New South Wales Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner.

The next installment in the Fruit Ninja franchise is expected to launch in 2012. It will apparently splatter onto iOS devices first. Though, “support for other platforms” is expected to roll out afterwards.
