Today’s trailer provides a more in-depth look at the mode, which offers players an alternative option when heading into multiplayer other than the Titan-heavy modes already available. Small-scale engagements are the order of the day in Live Fire mode then, but the removal of access to building-sized robots isn’t the only change you’ll need to be aware of. Respawns are disabled entirely here, so every Pilot’s life counts, especially as the aim of the game is to defend your team’s flag. There’s no room for lone-wolfing here.

Two brand new maps tailored exclusively to Live Fire will launch alongside the new mode, both of which can be seen in the trailer, although don’t expect to have any free time to admire them while playing – each round lasts for a mere 60 seconds, with the winning team of each round decided on kills and deaths if the flag isn’t captured.

It may have suffered from a sales slump thanks, in part, to it being sandwiched between big-hitters Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but that’s certainly not reflective of Titanfall 2‘s quality. In fact, we, like the rest of the internet, had nothing but praise for Respawn’s shooter in our review.

Titanfall 2 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
