The Vampire Counts, along with the human-ruled Empire, Dwarves, Greenskins (orcs and goblins) and pre-order only Chaos Warriors faction form the final roster of monsters, demons and undead you’ll be able to control in an effort to emerge the ultimate victor.

As with the tabletop game on which it is based, the Vampire Counts will be led by Mannfred Von Carstein. Along with counting blood-sucking vampires in their ranks, the likes of zombie dragons, skeletons and other beasts are included among their number.

You can check out the cinematic announcement trailer above to get an idea of what to expect from the new faction or, if you’re waiting for in-game footage of them in action, developer Creative Assembly will be holding a live event on the game’s official Twitch page at 9pm Eastern / 1am GMT.

Total War: Warhammer releases for PC on May 24, a month later than originally planned. A decision, Creative Assembly says, was made to give critics and reviewers more time to review all aspects of the game in greater detail.
