New Job Listings May Hint At Another Batman Game From Rocksteady

As much as I'd love to see another great Batman video game come together in the very near future - specifically something having to do with the acclaimed Arkham franchise - I'm not going to hold my breath. As much as I’d love to see another great Batman video game come together in the very near future – specifically something having to do with the acclaimed Arkham franchise – I’m not going to hold my breath. After all, aside from that series and the Telltale games, there haven’t been too many offerings in the interactive medium that have properly grasped the Dark Knight.

Still, hope springs eternal, as there have been recent rumors pointing toward a resurgence of the Arkham brand. For the most part, fans and press alike have assumed that Batman: Arkham Origins developer WB Games Montreal would retake the wheel, but there’s conflicting word on the street. If you’ll recall, it’s been said that Rocksteady may, in fact, make a triumphant return.

According to ComicBook.com, Rocksteady have posted three new job listings, with those positions being Lead Brand Artist, a Senior User Researcher and Promo Artist. It’s the third one’s description that’s raised a few eyebrows, as it reads as follows:

“The role will primarily involve the creation of very high quality trailers and promotional video assets using a combination of captured gameplay footage, composited 3D and special effects and other film production components and techniques. Your promotional videos will form a central component of the global marketing campaign for a very high profile, triple-A game franchise, so an understanding of branding is essential as is an interest in all forms of creative communication. A love of video games is also a plus!”

If Rocksteady were indeed cooking up something new, it stands to reason they wouldn’t be teasing “a very high profile, triple-A game franchise.” This, obviously, is going to make people jump to the conclusion that the Caped Crusader is at the center of it all.

Should this work out in the way we hope it will, then perhaps it’d be in their best interest to give Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy a call. Don’t forget, he said he’d like for another Arkham game see the light of day while speaking at Michigan Comic Con last August. So, if he’s hypothetically on board, then the rest of those dominoes are poised to fall.
