Sierra and developer The Old Gentlemen are still hard at work on the upcoming episodic adventure game King’s Quest, and a new developer diary showcases the fine balance that the team is trying to walk between replicating the charm of the older games’ art style while simultaneously upgrading the visuals for modern high-def systems.
Highlights include the process of making a hand-painted drawing into a texture, as well as a brief look at an environment from the original games that’s been remade for this new adventure. It’s an interesting look at the project and should help whet the appetites of those who are eagerly anticipating it.
King’s Quest will launch its first episode on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC later this year. We’ll keep you posted as we get more news on it.
