Despite E3 2018 giving people such as myself much reason to dance in the streets thanks to the long awaited reveals of both Devil May Cry 5 and a Resident Evil 2 remake, there were still some glaring omissions. Conspicuous by its absence is that of a Superman game, which many folks thought to be a lock for this year’s festivities.
Long story short, rumors regarding an interactive experience spotlighting Big Blue had been circulating in recent weeks, with Rocksteady, the developer behind the Batman: Arkham series, supposedly being at the helm. Heck, even an alleged poster for the thing surfaced online, thereby causing anticipation to increase.
Alas, there’s been zilch.
Sharing the dismay of those expecting something, Krypton star Cameron Cuffe has taken to Twitter, expressing his sadness in kind:
“Every year I dare to hope that there will be a Superman game announced at E3. Once again I let bogus rumours get my hopes up, but I really feel that every year that passes brings us closer. It’ll happen.”
Let it be known that E3 isn’t over just yet, so we’re not ready to rule out some sort of eleventh hour unveiling. If not, all hope’s not lost yet, as some publication such as Game Informer could’ve landed the exclusive reveal for themselves and it’ll be disclosed at a later date. Stuff like that happens all the time, after all.
Either way, we’ll keep you posted. You’ve gotta admit, it’d be pretty damn cool to see what kind of chain attacks Superman could let loose on the streets of Metropolis – or perhaps even on Warworld. Hey, you never know where the Last Son of Krypton may wind up!
