Latest Apex Legends Patch Fixes Caustic Exploit, Adds New PC Config Commands

Is Apex Legends on the verge of making a comeback?

Following months of little more than balance patches and quality of life fixes, the battle royale will soon be the recipient of some much-needed new content. Respawn unveiled Season 2: Battle Charge last week during EA Play, finally giving weary-eyed fans their first look at several features inbound next month. Among the many additions featured in the developer’s showcase was a new competitive Ranked mode, as well as brand new character Wattson.

Both should prove to alleviate the sense of staleness currently hanging over Kings Canyon, as too, should the proper integration of challenges for Apex Legends‘ overhauled Battle Pass. Before then, however, Respawn has found the time to preempt Season 2’s arrival with one further patch available to download from today for all platforms.

There’s a pretty sizable list to trawl through this time around, so we’ve taken the liberty of combing through the whole lot to cherry-pick several highlights.

  • Fixed issue with players not being rewarded with Loss Forgiveness after their teammate left during an Apex Elite match.

  • Fixed bug where Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps would damage players through walls.

  • Fixed exploit where you could repeatedly place Caustic’s Nox Gas Traps with no cooldown.

  • Fixed issues with items sorting incorrectly when looting a deathbox.

  • Fixed issues related to heavily decreased accuracy when ADS and sliding.

All of the above are universal across all platforms, though PC players have received some additional fixes in the form of further config commands. One of these handily allows players to crank their frames-per-second up to the maximum allowed, though performance will obviously still depend on the power of your rig’s hardware. Still, just having the option is a choice players will assuredly be happy to see after so long.

And with that, we’ve just about covered all the major changes included with today’s Apex Legends patch. Roll on Season 2!
